01.09.12 – ENR Mountain States released its 2011 Top Specialty Contractors List and Heartland Acoustics & Interiors has earned the #28 ranking for Colorado!

12.19.11 – Heartland Acoustics & Interiors has an online display ad running with ENR magazine that scrolls through four different project images and hyperlinks to our website.  The ad can be viewed at http://mountainstates.construction.com.

08.08.11 – Heartland presented an “Outstanding Safety Award” to Eddie Maher for his exceptional safety knowledge on the NREL-RSF project in Golden, Colorado.  Eddie was questioned extensively by Haselden Construction and the Department of Energy regarding site safety practices and policies.  He not only had exact knowledge of the policies but he was also practicing and following through on them.  Nice job Eddie!

06.25.11 – For the first time ever, the Heartland Mudders team competed in the 2011 Tough Mudder competition in Avon, Colorado.  The Tough Mudder is an extreme obstacle course that spans a 10-mile course in the mountains!  The team all crossed the finish line together after an exhausting 3 hours and 40 minutes.  Way to go Heartland Mudders!

         

06.08.11 – Heartland sponsored the annual Berthoud Day Parade that took place on Saturday, June 4th in Berthoud, Colorado.  Dan McMahon pulled the High Voltage float that we sponsored along with a truck bed full of High Voltage Girls!

    

04.30.11 – Heartland sponsored the first annual Fittin’ It In 5K Race for Douglas County Schools that took place on Saturday, April 30th.  A few of the Heartland folks made it out for the race and we had both runners and walkers alike.  We all had a fun morning and everyone crossed the finish line!

    

04.29.11 – Ryan Drawe rewarded two crew members for superior work done at the IKEA project.  Here are Ryan’s comments:

I’ve enjoyed watching Rey Rosas grow as a Foreman at Heartland Acoustics & Interiors and one great example is the aggressive schedule Saunders Construction is holding us to on the Kaleidoscope ceiling system at IKEA.  I can always count on Rey to either meet their deadlines or beat their schedule.  Thanks for all your hard work over the past five years and enjoy the game!

Juan Trujillo captured a daily production record in the P1 Level at the IKEA project.  After an eight hour work day, Juan installed 11,500 sf of USG Donn ZXLA ceiling grid suspension system.  Way to go Juan! I appreciate all your hard work and hope you enjoy the game!

04.26.11 – Congratulations to our Project Manager, Charlie Ochs.  Charlie has reached 1000 days of being a LEED Acredited Professional. Way to go!!

11.21.11 – The new Denver IKEA store was named “Best Retail/Mixed Use Development Project” by ENR Mountain States.  The Colorado office of Heartland Acoustics & Interiors furnished and installed the acoustical ceilings and decorative metal ceilings for the project.

11.14.11 – The IKEA store in Centennial, Colorado was the AGC of Colorado 2011 Ace Award For Construction Excellence as the Project of the Year in the over $60,000,000 category.  The Colorado office of Heartland Acoustics & Interiors furnished and installed the acoustical ceilings and decorative metal ceilings for the project.  The general contractor was Saunders Construction and Greenberg Farrow was the architect.

11.14.11 – The Alta Vista Charter School in Lamar, Colorado was awarded the AGC of Colorado 2011 Ace Award for Construction Excellence as the Project of the Year in the under $5,000,000 category.  The Colorado office of Heartland Acoustics & Interiors furnished and installed the acoustical ceilings and fabric acoustical wall panels for the project.  The general contractor was JHL Constructors and SlaterPaull was the architect.

11.07.11 – Heartland Acoustics & Interiors recently completed work on phase two of the NREL Research Support Facility in Golden, Colorado.  The design-build team for this project included Haselden Construction and RNL.  NREL is designed to be one of the largest net-zero energy buildings of its kind.  Many materials used in the RSF building contain recycled content or come from within 500 miles of the site, including lobby walls made from pine beetle kill wood, counters made from sunflower seeds and structural steel columns made from reclaimed gas pipes.  This project demonstrates NREL’s role in moving advanced technologies and transferring knowledge into commercial applications.

09.26.11 – President Obama will speak in support of his proposed American Jobs Act at Denver’s Abraham Lincoln High School on Tuesday, September 27th.  Abraham Lincoln High School is one of many school remodel projects completed this past summer by Heartland Acoustics & Interiors in Colorado.

09.01.11 – Heartland Acoustics & Interiors is proud to be part of the construction team that built the first Collaborative for High Performance School (CHPS) project in the state of Colorado.  The Alta Vista Charter School in Lamar was built in just over eight months and pays tribute to the original school built in 1917.  The general contractor was JHL Constructors and SlaterPaull was the architect for the project.  Congratulations to all of our South Colorado Crew that worked on this history making project!  

  

08.26.11 – Our South Colorado Superintendent, Ryan Drawe, and his project Foreman, Rey Rosas, both received IKEA gift cards from Saunders Construction in appreciation of their individual efforts and hard work on the IKEA project.  Enjoy your IKEA shopping experience guys!

7.27.11 – After nearly three years of planning and construction, Colorado’s first IKEA store opened today in Centennial to thousands of anxious customers.  Heartland met the rigorous accelerated schedule of the 415,000-square-foot complex that made it possible for the store to open nearly three months ahead of schedule.  Congrats go out to our Field Superintendent, Ryan Drawe, and to all the installers that worked on this enormous project.  Way to go guys!!

04.26.11 – IKEA announced today that the new store in Centennial, Colorado will open months sooner than originally planned with a grand opening on July 27th.  Heartland has been working extended hours and weekends to meet the accelerated schedule and will be complete with our work in early May.

03.17.11 – Heartland Acoustics & Interiors has been awarded the ASC Education & Social Studies Building with Adolfson & Peterson in Alamosa, Colorado.

03.15.11 – Heartland Acoustics & Interiors has been awarded acoustical treatments for phase 2 of the NREL Research Support Facility with Haselden Construction.

03.15.11 – Heartland Acoustics & Interiors will install first Access Flooring project in June with Golden Triangle of Southern Colorado.

03.15.11 – IKEA Centennial project with Saunders Construction is moving along.  Set to finish early May.

Industry News

09.20.11 – Heartland Acoustics & Interiors was an exhibitor at the Colorado Real Estate Journal Green Building Summit & Expo this year.  The 2011 Summit is Colorado’s largest commercial green building conference of the year with more than 500 attendees.  The event was held at the Inverness Hotel and Conference Center in Englewood, Colorado.  Many thanks go out to Kristen for working the exhibit table for us this year!

 

04.27.11 – We didn’t invent it, but today is officially Noise Awareness Day.  Did you know you can retrofit spaces and improve acoustics by about 50% with only 20% coverage of the ceiling area?

04.26.11 – Hunter Douglas has announced their new “Gladius” ceiling panels.  The metal panels provide a superior flat panel face and feature a self-centering, self-leveling, and self-aligning installation system for 15/16″ ceiling grid systems.
