Jim GordonJim Gordon

Vice President

I started installing suspended acoustical ceilings in 1962 (after a tour with the US Army) in a three state area around Salina, Kansas.  In 1974, I moved to Denver, Colorado and worked as Field Superintendent for Colorado Partitions and Drywall.  During my time there I managed their ceiling division on a number of high-rise commercial buildings in downtown Denver.  I later started my own ceiling company and worked in twelve states bidding and installing ceilings.  By 1987, I had moved to San Diego and worked for about a year as Field Superintendent for a local drywall and ceiling company before starting North County Acoustics in 1988.  I sold North County Acoustics ten years later and semi-retired to Oklahoma.  After a few “retired” years I was ready to get back into ceilings again and moved to Colorado to help my son, Jason, grow Heartland Acoustics & Interiors.  In 2007, Jason and I started up a southern California branch of Heartland Acoustics and I moved back to the San Diego area.  I have been married to my wife Brenda for thirty-five years and have six children and nineteen grandchildren.

Office Manager

I was born in Tucson, Arizona but grew up in beautiful San Diego County nearly my entire life. I started riding horses and visiting the Del Mar Racetrack with my stepdad as a child and have since grown to love horses and the sport of thoroughbred horseracing.  I am an aspiring bloodstock agent and breeder and I currently own two horses.  I have a two year old thoroughbred gelding and a five year old thoroughbred broodmare.  I love the intricacies involved in breeding top racehorses thus my drive to breed and own one myself.  I am also a part-time student.

I have lived in North San Diego County area for nearly twenty-five years working in the acoustical ceiling business and the tenant improvement general contracting business. I lived in the Denver area for several years before moving out to the left coast. I claim to be from Tulsa, Oklahoma and went to Oklahoma State for a time before moving to Colorado. I have two sons, Cody is twenty-four and is living in Brooklyn, New York (of all places) and Cameron is eighteen, lives at home and is going to school locally.

I was born and raised in San Diego, California.  I moved to Boise, Idaho for a brief three year period but missed the ocean and weather so much I had to return.  I have been in the acoustical ceiling business since 1990.  I enjoy spending time with my wife Andrea, our lovely daughter Sophie, our friends and family.  We like to travel, attend sporting events and work on our never ending home improvements!
